It’s officially Cinco de Mayo in parts of the USA and we all know what that means! Margaritas! I’m pretty sure that it states, in the official Guide Book to Cinco de Mayo, that imbibing in a margarita is a must. Who am I to go against the rules? Though just to be on the safe side, I may indulge in two or three. So grab your shaker and tequila and let’s celebrate today the best way we know how!

I love that this recipe is for only one glassful of margarita. If I’m making a margarita for myself, I don’t like to make a full pitcher. Not that I wouldn’t drink it, I just don’t like my cocktails to get watered down from melted ice!
Ingredients
- 1 shot of white tequila. I try to buy the mid-priced kind. Your taste buds will thank you.
- 1 shot of orange flavored liqueur. Triple Sec works, but Grand Marnier is better.
- ¼ cup of pineapple juice
- 1 TBSP of frozen limeade concentrate
- juice from ½ a lime
- lime wedge
- kosher salt
Instructions
- Run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass.
- Dip the edges of the glass into the rock salt.
- Fill a shaker up with ice.
- Add tequila, orange flavored liqueur, pineapple juice, limeade concentrate & lime juice.
- Shake vigorously for about 10 seconds until super cold.
- Place some ice in your glass. Don’t drop it in your glass or all the salt will fall off and that would be a shame.
- Drink up.
- Repeat.
